Rip's impressions
American Faust is an epic tale about three Americans who live in different time periods of the twentieth century. After each making a deal with the devil, the three are drawn to a mysteriously abandoned country estate where time stands still and it's always the Fourth of July. Before they can leave each must come to terms with who they are and what is most important to them in life. Meet Lawrence P. Worthington, a playboy from the 1920s Jazz Age who seduces women for the devil; Sharon Peters, a 1960s suburban housewife, who just when her life is falling apart is given the chance to remain young and beautiful forever; and finally James Harris, a San Francisco entrepreneur in the year 2000 who is promised $500 million from a mysterious investor to do just one small favor -- visit the site of a haunted estate and retrieve something of great value hidden inside.
